This customer bought an old elementary school and had it completely renovated by a large contractor. I got the job to create a large timber frame (250×250 timber beams) for both swings and esthetic purposes and a 5x4m veranda. A befriended gardener was going to finish the entire garden so the timber frame and veranda had to be set at the correct height. I started by setting up the laser and measuring everything out, then putting the foundations into the ground for the veranda and cut all the timber beams and posts to size with mostly my chainsaw and dropsaw and built up the frame for the veranda. Finished it all off with black rebates and power for some outdoor sockets.
The timber frame was a 2-man job due to the weight. After digging well over 1.5m into the ground, the frame was erected and bolted together. Some connections were made because the beams were not long enough for the span. The garden was finished by the gardener.
The work was 100% done by myself.
